Membership Policy

Black Bear Shooting Club

1. INTRODUCTION

The Black Bear Shooting Club ("BBSC") provides exclusive member access to the premier Black Bear Shooting Complex, the pinnacle of precision long-range shooting facilities in the eastern United States. This Membership Policy ("Policy") establishes the framework for elite membership in our exclusive community of precision shooters. By applying for and accepting membership, professionals acknowledge their commitment to uphold the exceptional standards, protocols, and operational procedures that distinguish Black Bear Shooting Complex as the preeminent tactical shooting environment for discerning practitioners.

 

2. MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

2.1. Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age (tactical professionals under 18 may be considered with executive approval and must be accompanied by a qualified guardian).

2.2. Candidates must maintain full legal eligibility to possess and operate firearms under all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

2.3. Candidates must have no felony convictions or domestic violence offenses.

2.4. Candidates must demonstrate professional-level long-range shooting proficiency. In the absence of verifiable professional references, candidates must exhibit technical competence and possession of appropriate precision equipment to the satisfaction of BBSC leadership.

2.5. Candidates must complete a comprehensive application process, including submission of all required documentation and verification materials.

2.6. BBSC reserves exclusive right to decline applications at its discretion without obligation to disclose specific grounds for such decisions.

 

3. MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE AND INVESTMENT

3.1. Elite Membership Tier:

  • Full Membership: Grants comprehensive access to all Black Bear Shooting Complex tactical facilities, training environments, and exclusive professional benefits.

3.2. Professional Investment Structure:

  • One-time Initiation Fee: $750.00 (non-refundable)

  • Annual Membership: $250.00 per annum

  • Monthly Subscription Option: $25.00 per month

3.3. BBSC maintains the right to adjust the investment structure with 30 days' advance notification to the membership.

3.4. All investments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

3.5. Current members in good standing are exempt from resubmission of the initiation fee unless there exists a lapse in active membership status exceeding 12 consecutive months.

 

4. PAYMENT PROTOCOLS

4.1. Initial payment, comprising the Initiation Fee and first membership cycle payment, is due upon approval of the membership application.

4.2. Members selecting the monthly subscription authorize BBSC to automatically process their designated payment method on a consistent monthly cycle.

4.3. Members selecting the annual subscription authorize BBSC to automatically process their designated payment method on their membership anniversary date.

4.4. Payment irregularities may result in temporary suspension of facility access privileges until satisfactorily resolved.

4.5. Members bear responsibility for maintaining current payment information and must promptly notify BBSC of any relevant changes.

 

5. MEMBERSHIP DURATION AND CONTINUATION

5.1. Membership commences upon receipt of initial payment and continues until formal termination by either party in accordance with this Policy.

5.2. Membership automatically renews on either a monthly or annual basis, contingent upon the selected payment protocol.

5.3. BBSC reserves the right to conduct periodic membership reviews and reassessments.

 

6. PROFESSIONAL BENEFITS

6.1. Exclusive access to Black Bear Shooting Complex premier tactical facilities during operational hours (Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am to 5:30pm).

6.2. Utilization of advanced range facilities and tactical target systems in accordance with BBSC operational protocols.

6.3. Priority registration access for select tactical competitions and professional development events managed through BBSC systems, including the prestigious Major Land Sniper Cup and specialized tactical training programs.

6.4. Opportunities to obtain professional certifications, including NRA Range Officer credentials, at no additional cost.

6.5. Direct influence on facility evolution through formal improvement assessments and professional feedback channels.

6.6. Preferential pricing on tactical equipment and professional gear through BBSC's forthcoming procurement portal.

6.7. Additional professional benefits as periodically introduced by BBSC leadership.

 

7. MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION

7.1. Member-Initiated Termination:

  • Members may terminate their membership status by submitting formal written notification to blackbearsc@proton.me.

  • Termination becomes effective at the conclusion of the current billing cycle.

  • No prorated refunds are available for partial billing periods.

  • The Initiation Fee remains non-refundable upon termination.

7.2. BBSC-Initiated Termination:

  • BBSC reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership without financial consideration for:

    • Violations of BBSC operational protocols or safety standards

    • Tactical conduct deemed unsafe or inappropriate

    • Failure to maintain qualification requirements

    • Payment delinquency

    • Any conduct determined to be detrimental to the professional standards or reputation of BBSC or its membership

7.3. Reinstatement Protocol:

  • Former members may apply for reinstatement following a minimum 12-month period.

  • Reinstatement requires submission of the standard Initiation Fee unless specifically waived by BBSC executive leadership.

 

8. PROFESSIONAL GUEST PROTOCOL

8.1. Members may escort professional guests to the facility; however, guests are prohibited from handling or operating firearms unless they hold current BBSC membership in good standing with all dues current.

8.2. All professional guests must:

  • Remain under direct escort of the sponsoring member at all times

  • Execute a comprehensive liability waiver prior to accessing any tactical range

  • Adhere strictly to all BBSC operational protocols and safety standards

8.3. Sponsoring members assume full professional responsibility for the conduct and safety compliance of their guests.

8.4. Guest privileges remain subject to immediate revocation at BBSC's sole discretion.

 

9. FACILITY ACCESS AND OPERATIONAL HOURS

9.1. Black Bear Shooting Complex tactical facilities operate Saturday through Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

9.2. Operational hours are subject to seasonal adjustment and may be modified for special training events.

9.3. BBSC maintains the right to restrict access to facilities or specific tactical ranges for maintenance, private training exercises, or other operational considerations without prior notification.

 

10. JUNIOR TACTICAL PROFESSIONALS

10.1. Members may sponsor tactical professionals between ages 10-17, subject to the following requirements:

  • The member must be the legal guardian or have formal written authorization from the legal guardian

  • Junior tactical professionals must remain under direct supervision at all times

  • Junior tactical professionals must strictly adhere to all BBSC operational protocols

  • A comprehensive liability waiver must be executed by the legal guardian

10.2. Tactical professionals under age 10 are restricted from Black Bear Shooting Complex premises except with explicit prior written authorization from BBSC executive leadership.

 

11. TACTICAL PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

11.1. All members must successfully complete BBSC's tactical safety orientation prior to utilizing any range facilities.

11.2. Access to specialized tactical environments requires demonstrated operational proficiency with a BBSC Range Officer or executive staff member during initial orientation.

11.3. Certain advanced tactical ranges or specialized equipment may require additional certification or documented proficiency.

 

12. PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

12.1. BBSC communicates with its membership primarily through secure electronic communications.

12.2. Members are responsible for maintaining current contact information and monitoring official communications.

12.3. Time-sensitive safety notifications will be disseminated via secure electronic channels.

 

13. INFORMATION SECURITY

13.1. BBSC collects and maintains member information exclusively for administrative and operational purposes.

13.2. Member information remains confidential and will not be disclosed to unauthorized third parties except as mandated by law or as necessary for operational requirements.

13.3. BBSC may utilize anonymized, aggregate data for strategic planning and operational assessment.

 

14. POLICY MODIFICATIONS

14.1. BBSC reserves the right to modify this Policy, Rules and Regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures as operational requirements dictate.

14.2. Members will receive notification of significant policy modifications via secure electronic communications.

14.3. Continued utilization of Black Bear Shooting Complex facilities following such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
